Chapter 7: The Divine Beast Azure Dragon

Shi Muran didn’t find anything shameful about cheating; having the ability to cheat was a form of strength. “If you’ve got the skill, then cheat too,” she thought.
【Ding! As the most loyal little system to its host, it has detected the Beast King Azure Dragon (can be tamed), and rewards the host with a pair of Beast Control Rings!】
【Note: These Beast Control Rings can instantly tame spirit beasts regardless of power differences.】
The system beamed with joy at Shi Muran’s praise and, with a grand gesture, gifted her the reward from its little treasury.
Shi Muran had originally planned to purchase the rings with regret points, but now she was delighted. Within the system’s space, these Beast Control Rings were classified as heavenly-grade, valued at 999,999 regret points!
She simply couldn’t afford that.
“Wow, as expected of my system—so generous! Love you to bits,” Shi Muran happily provided emotional value to the system.
Her single compliment left the system utterly flustered, eager to shower Shi Muran with more gifts.
Alas, the system’s treasury was currently running a bit low.
It thought to itself, once its funds were replenished, it would surely take good care of its beautiful host!
If it had a tail, Shi Muran would undoubtedly see it wagging like a helicopter rotor.
Without further ado, Shi Muran lightly leapt into the lake of molten lava!
The Crematorium System was cooperative, automatically activating a protective shield around Shi Muran, sparing her from having to use any of her own treasures.
Shi Muran was silent for two seconds, a sly smile flickering in her eyes.
She had it all under control.
No one knew that the Crematorium System hadn’t always been so obedient; it used to be a spiteful, rebellious system that wanted nothing more than to annihilate its host.
But now…
She was quite satisfied.
As she sank into the lava lake, it didn’t appear to be filled entirely with molten rock as seen from outside. Instead, specks of blue light shimmered within.
Inside, it resembled a normal lake.
But at its deepest part, rippling circles of blue waves stirred, as if a colossal creature was circling the underwater hill at the bottom.
Drawing closer, one could see a gargantuan being stretching several zhang in length, covered in blue-green scales.
Shi Muran looked carefully and saw it wore antlers like a deer, yet its body resembled a gigantic serpent. Its long whiskers and outstretched five claws exuded regal majesty.
A gentle snort from it commanded all around to bow and recognize its sovereignty!
This formidable beast was none other than the Beast King Azure Dragon!
It was no ordinary beast king; the Azure Dragon was a divine beast cub possessing extraordinary powers.
The Celestial Dao Sect had failed to subdue the Azure Dragon, so they sealed it here, allowing the dragon’s spiritual power and Dao resonance to be permanently harnessed by the sect, greatly enhancing its foundation.

The Azure Dragon had been sealed here for a millennium, harboring deep resentment toward the Celestial Dao Sect.
When Jiang Wanwan broke the seal, she naturally sought immediate vengeance.
Yet in the end, Jiang Wanwan tamed it, making it her beast companion.
Even when the Celestial Dao Sect learned the truth, because Jiang Wanwan possessed the Azure Dragon and it benefited the sect, they shifted all blame onto Shi Muran.
Quite a clever move.
Shi Muran swam closer and saw that the Azure Dragon was bound by chains. Though its eyes were closed, she still sensed it was watching her.
“Since they say it was all my doing, then I’ll make it all true,” she murmured softly.
“Azure Dragon? You won’t be Jiang Wanwan’s anymore.”
“From now on, you’re my beast companion.”
Shi Muran whispered. The half-awake Azure Dragon thought this human was arrogantly audacious.
So weak and yet delusional enough to think it could be tamed—just like that old man a thousand years ago! How detestable!
Forget convincing it; if she had the power, she should break the seal herself!
Ugh! It was furious! Furious!
One day, it vowed to destroy the Celestial Dao Sect and kill that old human!
With these thoughts, the Azure Dragon opened its eyes, intending to scare Shi Muran—it had not seen another person in a long time.
Had it not been lonely for so long, it would have crushed her the moment she appeared.
The Azure Dragon was somewhat prideful; among dragons, it was still just a ten-year-old child.
“Human, seeing me, why don’t you kneel?”
Even sealed, the Azure Dragon was proud and scorned everyone. Though it tried to speak, it sounded pompous.
Its voice swept over Shi Muran with an imposing pressure.
Shi Muran had known it was awake and was not surprised.
She smiled sweetly, then casually threw out the God-Slaying Sword, aiming it straight at one of the seals.
The Azure Dragon grew displeased at her silence and strange actions.
“Human, what is that expression? Are you even listening to me?”
“Don’t think I don’t know your purpose. You just want me to be your beast companion? Hah! Impossible…” Actually, possible!
“Crack!”
Before the Azure Dragon could finish speaking, a crisp cracking sound rang out as the seal was broken, and the chains began to collapse!
Its once stern eyes widened in shock, revealing a glint of mischievous intelligence like a playful husky.

Fr-freedom at last!
At this moment, Shi Muran was practically its god!
Recalling her earlier words, the Azure Dragon shyly cleared its throat twice.
“Cough cough, but let me be clear—I could reluctantly follow you, but your strength isn’t enough.”
“However, I can agree to one request… no, two! Actually, three! Yes, three!”
This human was good-looking, kind-hearted, and capable of releasing it—she was quite nice!
If she were strong enough, maybe it would truly become her beast companion. Alas.
Hehehe, just right!
Three requests would suffice. It wasn’t the type of lying dragon; it valued promises highly, unlike that old human.
Shi Muran blinked, bewildered as the Azure Dragon twisted itself like a pretzel.
Unaware that it was a chatterbox at heart, she just thought the creature was a bit silly.
“System, is this Azure Dragon really a divine beast? Why… does it seem kind of goofy?”
【Emmm… I don’t know.】 The system was also flustered, frantically searching through its database.
In the original story, this was a crucial beast companion resource for Jiang Wanwan. At first, it was extremely domineering, causing Jiang Wanwan much hardship before it gradually obeyed.
How come now… it wasn’t domineering at all?
Could it be a mistake?
Shi Muran sighed and eventually tossed one of the Beast Control Rings toward it.
The moment the ring appeared, the Azure Dragon stiffened instantly.
It looked up to see a golden ring suddenly expanding, a strong suppressive force sweeping over its entire body!
In front of it, Shi Muran stood with one hand behind her back, smiling sweetly: “No need for three requests. From now on, you’re my beast companion.”
Boom—
Feeling the bond forming with the tiny human before it, the Azure Dragon collapsed to the ground, seemingly drained of all its strength and means!
Though it liked beauties and was a bit of a face-snob, and didn’t dislike Shi Muran, it had no intention of signing any beast companion contract!
Yet there was something even more devastating for the Azure Dragon.
“Damn it! Why is it still a master-servant contract?!”
