In the car, the elderly man introduced himself as Li, and everyone respectfully called him Uncle Li.

He was the housekeeper for the employer, Wang Xinyao. Wang Xinyao owned her own private hospital—Busan Private Hospital—an unquestionable mark of her wealth.

When they arrived at the Wang family mansion, the opulence was overwhelming.

Gou Liang had never seen such a luxurious private residence. No wonder Old Night demanded ten million just to treat her daughter.

After getting out of the car, Gou Liang followed Uncle Li into the grand reception hall of the mansion.

The moment he entered, he was stunned.

Inside the magnificent hall were more than twenty young men and women—all his classmates.

He never would have guessed that this was the home of Wang Xiaomeng, the class beauty.

Sadly, Wang Xiaomeng had never spared him a glance. This time, however, even she stared at him in shock, her eyes wide open for once.

"Isn’t this the fool from our class? How did he suddenly become a healer?!"

The room erupted in laughter.

Zhu Jiahao, the class president and a second-generation rich kid, was always arrogant in class, bullying Gou Liang for sport. Now, scowling and glaring, he pointed at Gou Liang and spat out his taunts.

"Well, look who it is! Still not dead from hunger? You really surprised me today. I didn’t recognize you at first—strutting in here, charging ten million just to show up. With your brains, you couldn’t heal anyone! At best, you could haul bricks at a construction site, yet you dare act important here?"

Because of Zhu Jiahao’s scheming, Gou Liang had been blacklisted in the medical field, and he loathed Zhu Jiahao to the core.

Yet Zhu Jiahao showed no guilt—his disdain was as obvious as ever.

After mocking Gou Liang, Zhu Jiahao immediately put on a sycophantic smile, fawning over Wang Xiaomeng’s mother, Wang Xinyao, from every angle.

"Auntie, you’ve been deceived! He’s not a healer—he’s just our classmate, a nobody, can’t do a thing. You’d better get your money back. If you want, I’ll get it for you."

Though Wang Xinyao was Wang Xiaomeng’s mother, sitting beside her daughter, she looked more like her elder sister.

Tall and gracefully alluring, her figure exuded sensuality. Her face was as radiant as a peach blossom, lips a blazing red, her long, thick lashes curled upward, and her moist, slender eyes were as cold as the night sky—intense and electrifying. One glance from her could make a man’s heart race and mind reel, overwhelmed by desire.

The icy, commanding aura she projected ensured no one dared act out in her presence.

Though Wang Xiaomeng was also beautiful, standing next to her mother she seemed a little green—hardly surprising, as young men are always drawn to mature women.

A trace of confusion flickered across Wang Xinyao’s face. She had never met Old Night in person—only spoken with her by phone.

"Are you Old Night?"

Gou Liang shook his head calmly and answered truthfully.

"I’m not Old Night—she sent me here to treat you."

Zhu Jiahao stepped forward, pointing at Gou Liang and shouting threats.

"You liar! You’re nothing but a cheat. We’ve been classmates for years—who doesn’t know who you are? Give Auntie her money back right now, or I’ll beat you to a pulp!"

A message flashed in Gou Liang’s mind.

A healer’s rule: payment is made before treatment, and if the employer refuses treatment, there are no refunds.

Gou Liang’s heart skipped a beat. Healers really did have backbone!

No matter what, since he’d inherited Old Night’s mantle, he couldn’t break the rules. The money couldn’t be returned—he’d already spent three hundred thousand.

So he looked Wang Xinyao straight in the eye.

"President Wang, the terms were agreed upon with Old Night. Even if the treatment isn’t carried out, there are no refunds. You’re aware of this."

Wang Xinyao didn’t even raise an eyebrow, smiling faintly.

"That’s right, but do you know the consequences if you fail?"

Gou Liang shook his head. "Old Night didn’t tell me."

Wang Xinyao arched her brow and ran her tongue over her nude-pink lips, her tone casual.

"If you fail, you must pay double the amount. If you can’t, you’ll have to resolve it yourself."

Gou Liang’s heart nearly stopped. If he had ten million in his account, he’d have quit this terrifying business immediately.

But since Old Night had passed her legacy to him, she surely wouldn’t set him up for failure. It should only take a photograph to complete the treatment.

Besides, with all his classmates watching, he couldn’t afford to lose face. He braced himself and nodded.

"I accept the consequences. Let’s begin the treatment."

"Treat your period!"

With a roar, Zhu Jiahao swung his large hand and smacked Gou Liang on the head, sending him staggering.

Zhu Jiahao had been on the school basketball team—tall and strong. Bullying Gou Liang was like a max-level player beating up a newbie; Gou Liang stood no chance.

And since Zhu Jiahao was pursuing Wang Xiaomeng, he seized the opportunity to show off his so-called masculinity in front of the mother and daughter.

Gou Liang had always been cowardly at school, used to being bullied by Zhu Jiahao; a slap to the head was nothing new.

Seeing Gou Liang take the hit without resistance, Zhu Jiahao pressed on, emboldened.

"You dared to scam my aunt—and won’t refund the money? Clearly, your brain needs fixing. Let me help you wake up."

With that, he twisted open a bottle of ice-cold mineral water and poured it straight over Gou Liang’s head.

Gou Liang was instantly drenched.

Humiliated in front of everyone, Gou Liang’s anger surged.

He was surprised by the intensity of his own fury. He’d never felt this way before—never even considered resisting Zhu Jiahao.

But now, he couldn’t suppress his emotions. His eyes flashed with rage as he fixed his gaze on Zhu Jiahao.

"Zhu Jiahao, you bullied me in school and I let it go. But now we’ve graduated—if you push me again, don’t blame me for fighting back."

"Oh, so you’ve finally grown a spine since graduation? Come on, show me how you’ll fight back. Maybe I went too easy on you before. If I don’t beat you until you soil yourself today, you’re lucky!"

With a swipe, Zhu Jiahao struck Gou Liang hard on the forehead, making stars dance before his eyes—he nearly fainted.

That was the breaking point. Gou Liang was truly enraged.

Veins bulged on his forehead, years of fear combusting into unbridled fury, surging through him like wildfire.

His body swelled, muscles tensing, and the wild blood of the healer roared through his veins like a tidal wave. He could feel strength growing inside him, his arms bursting with explosive power.

In that instant of wrath, he awakened the healer’s bloodline!
