Despertando de um grande sonho, Chen Tong atravessou para a antiguidade, tornando-se um estudante decadente num reino chamado Grande Dinastia Shen, num espaço paralelo. Para sua surpresa, o corpo original não teve sorte e foi sequestrado por bandidos das montanhas que desceram para roubar dos ricos e ajudar os pobres, tornando-se refém do Forte do Vento Negro. Achando que o fim era certo, no momento crucial o Sistema de Simulação de Vida se vinculou com sucesso. Chen Tong, com conhecimento prévio, reescreveu o destino, movendo-se como peixe na água. "Os tempos são difíceis, os corações dos homens já não são os mesmos. Já que é para ser bandido, que seja bandido! Não só seremos bandidos, como também vamos fortalecer o Forte do Vento Negro, fazendo todo o mundo tremer de medo."

Chen Tong opened his eyes, greeted by the glare of a blazing torch.

With a thud, Chen Tong was kicked hard. Looking up, he saw a burly, bear-like man perched on a low stool, his teeth bared in a furious curse. One foot rested on the wooden bench, eyes as round as copper bells, his chest exposed beneath a loosely tied black sash, bristling with thick hair—a sight resembling a bear come to life.
“Chief, give the order! I’ll fight them to the end.”
“It’s no easy feat for us to raid the kiln village at the foot of the mountain. Now we’ve lost both men and pride, and on the way back, even some of our best were taken out. Chief, say the word, and I, Iron Ox, will take on those cursed government troops.”
The man's voice thundered through the hall, jolting Chen Tong awake. He gasped, instinctively trying to sit up—only to realize, with shock, that his hands were bound tightly behind his back, leaving him utterly immobile.
His face burned, his chest ached. He found himself in a brightly lit grand hall, high steps leading up to eight armchairs, each occupied or surrounded by rugged men with fierce faces, bare-chested and wild-eyed—a gathering of demons if ever there was one. At the center, two gleaming yellow banners were planted in a wooden stump.
The left banner read “Heroes United”; the right, “Uphold Heaven’s Justice.”
