Behind Qin Luo stood the renowned "Divine Physician Li," whom he had personally invited.

While everyone else gazed at the physician with expressions of relief and joy, only Li Mu maintained a look of profound skepticism. Divine Physician Li? He didn't recall the Divine Physician being an old man.

"Young Master Qin is here; please, come inside and check on the old man," Jiang Qing said, stepping forward to shake Qin Luo’s hand before clearing a path for them to enter.

"Divine Physician, you’ve finally arrived. Please, you must save the old man!" Hai Yan’er cried, wiping tears from her face as she spoke.

"Alas, I am an old man with brittle bones; I originally had no intention of coming, but Young Master Qin insisted," the old man said, stroking his beard as he walked toward the hospital bed. "Very well, I shall make an exception today and examine the patient."

As soon as he finished speaking, the old man sat at the bedside and began to check the pulse.

"Thank you, Young Master Qin," Hai Wen said, fawning over him as if he were a rare treasure, reaching out to grasp his hand. "If it weren't for you, our family would probably be..." She wept as she spoke, looking utterly pitiful.

"You are too kind, Madam. It is simply unbearable to see Wan’er so heartbroken, especially witnessing her running about and exhausting herself for her grandfather," Qin Luo replied. "Doing this is merely my duty."

With that, Qin Luo cast a meaningful glance at Jiang Wan, his eyes practically screaming, "I am fond of you!"

Jiang Wan frowned. She couldn't say she liked Qin Luo; the man gave her an odd feeling she couldn't quite put into words. Within their social circle, Qin Luo was famously a "good man," and he was exceptionally attentive to her. He possessed a refined temperament, and as the CEO of the Qin family, his credentials, status, and power were all top-tier—he was, in every sense, too perfect. It was precisely for this reason that Jiang Wan felt something was amiss.

Even so, she was deeply grateful to him; after all, he had brought the Divine Physician.

As everyone watched the physician’s solemn expression, they held their breath, awaiting the verdict. He was, after all, their only hope.

After a long silence, the Divine Physician opened his eyes, scanned the room, and sighed. "Alas, the old man’s health is in a terrible state. His vitality is highly unstable, and there are varying degrees of injuries throughout his limbs and body. Has the old man suffered any trauma?"

Li Mu nearly laughed out loud upon hearing this. A "Divine Physician"? He couldn't even tell that this wasn't an illness, but a case of poisoning? He was clearly a fraud, and it seemed the young master of the Qin family had been swindled as well.

Jiang Qing looked confused. "That’s impossible. The old man has been carefully tended to; how could he have been injured? Besides, he hasn't left this hospital, and no outsiders have been allowed in."

The Divine Physician’s expression darkened. He lowered his head, pondered, and felt the pulse again. After a long while, he shook his head. "If there is no injury, then there is only one possibility: he has been poisoned."

Li Mu raised an eyebrow. Interesting. This man could actually identify that it was poison?

"Divine Physician, are you certain it is poison? What kind of poison has my father been afflicted with?" asked Jiang Yusheng, who had been silent until now.

"If I am not mistaken, it is a chronic toxin known as the 'Nine Absolution Powder.'"

"Nine Absolution Powder?" The crowd gasped in shock. They had heard of it—a colorless, odorless toxin that, once introduced, slowly erodes the victim's internal organs.

"Can you cure this... this toxin, sir?"

The Divine Physician sighed. "The toxicity is severe, and the old man has been afflicted for a long time. It will be difficult to treat, but I shall try my best."

"Yes, yes! If the Divine Physician says so, our Jiang family will cooperate fully. Whatever the fee, just name it!" Jiang Qing bowed toward the physician.

The Divine Physician waved a hand. "Enough, I must now apply the needles!" He reached toward the old man.

Just as the needle was about to touch the patient, a voice rang out, cutting through the air: "Old man, if you do that, it will have the exact opposite effect! This old gentleman is not suffering from Nine Absolution Powder at all!"

The crowd turned to see Li Mu, looking as nonchalant as ever. The Divine Physician’s hand froze mid-air.

He had roamed the world for many years, witnessing countless complex illnesses, and had earned the title of "Divine Physician" accordingly. He had treated countless patients without a single misdiagnosis. To be questioned by this young man was utterly ridiculous. "Where did this brat come from? How dare you question my expertise!"

Qin Luo frowned. "Who are you? How dare you challenge the reputation of our Divine Physician? He is world-renowned! May I ask your name?"

"Oh?" Li Mu looked at him with disdain. He had initially thought the man was an imposter, but it turned out there was simply another "Divine Physician" with the same title. Whether this man was famous or not didn't matter to him; having spent his life in the mountains, he was unfamiliar with these social circles. "I am just a healer with a superficial understanding, but I am certain the old man is not poisoned by Nine Absolution Powder."

The Divine Physician scoffed. "The Jiang family is truly something else. Did you invite me here just to let a brat humiliate me?"

Jiang Yusheng panicked. He grabbed the physician’s arm. "Divine Physician, this kid has nothing to do with us! Please, don't lower yourself to his level. Our old man is still lying here!"

"Exactly, we’ll throw him out right now," Hai Yan’er chimed in.

Jiang Yusheng signaled his men. "What are you waiting for? Get this brat out of here!" He glared at Li Mu. "You have an engagement with our Wan’er and you think you’re a son-in-law? You’re not ashamed, but we certainly are!"

Jiang Qing also felt a deep sense of irritation. The marriage had been arranged by his father, and he had never even met this young man before. Seeing him now, he found the boy rude and disheveled—hardly a match for his daughter. However, out of respect for his father's wishes, he hadn't driven him away immediately.

Hai Yan’er, however, had no such qualms. She pointed at Li Mu and cursed, "You wretched boy, how did you even follow us here? Get out of our Jiang family home! If you come back, I’ll have your legs broken! Someone, get this brat out of here! He’s nothing but bad luck!"
