Chapter 18: Presenting Zifeng Manor to You
Chen Hu hurriedly knelt and begged for mercy. "Mr. Han, I am truly sorry. I had no idea of your identity beforehand. Had I known, I wouldn't have dared to provoke you even if I were given ten times the courage. As they say, one who does not know is not to be blamed; please show mercy and spare me."
Chen Hu knew all too well that the Weihu Gang was in no position to challenge the White Ghost Consortium. Han Yang had already neutralized half of the gang's forces; if he did not beg for mercy now, the entire gang would be buried at his hands.
"It is too late for such talk now. You burned down my family's old house, the only memory my mother left me. You must pay the price today," Han Yang said with a dark expression.
Trembling with fear, Chen Hu cried, "Mr. Han, please spare my life! I am willing to compensate you. I own a villa, and I am willing to transfer it to you. Furthermore, I will build a house identical to your old one as compensation. Please, let me go, and spare the Weihu Gang as well."
Han Yang’s expression became intriguing upon hearing this. He was quite interested in the compensation offered.
"You own a villa?"
Chen Hu quickly replied, "Yes, it is called the Purple Phoenix Villa, worth several billion. I am willing to transfer it to you; we can handle the paperwork as soon as dawn breaks. What do you think?"
Just then, Li Tao whispered into Han Yang’s ear. If they wiped out the Weihu Gang entirely in one go, it would cause a massive sensation and push Han Yang into the spotlight. Han Yang had already killed quite a few of them tonight. With such a commotion, someone would need to clean up the mess—it would be better to let Chen Hu do it himself.
Han Yang pondered this. Li Tao made sense. It would be better to keep Chen Hu alive and make use of him later.
"Considering you show some sincerity, I will give you a chance. At dawn, take me to see the Purple Phoenix Villa," Han Yang said with great authority.
"I guarantee you will love it there."
Han Yang said no more and turned to leave. Li Tao followed him. Once the group got into their cars, they departed from the Chen residence. Seeing them go, Chen Hu finally let out a sigh of relief. He sat on the floor, gasping for breath. The Weihu Gang had nearly been wiped out today; thank goodness he had shown sincerity. Now that he thought about it, this was all caused by that bastard Xing Tiankai. He would definitely make him pay for this.
...
Since his old house had been burned down, Han Yang had nowhere to go. He followed Li Tao to his home. Upon entering, Li Tao said respectfully, "Boss, please make yourself at home. Consider this your own house."
"I will rest for a while and then leave. Sorry for the intrusion."
"What are you saying? You are welcome to live here as long as you like."
Han Yang smiled without responding. He didn't want to live with another man; it felt strange. He sat lazily on the sofa.
Li Tao sat opposite him. "Boss, not killing Chen Hu was a wise choice. Not only can you acquire the Purple Phoenix Villa, but you also gain Chen Hu as a lackey. He can be useful to you in the future; why not take the opportunity?"
"I was considering that, which is why I didn't kill him."
"Killing Chen Hu would have been troublesome, and you would have been implicated."
Han Yang changed the subject. "By the way, have you found any leads on the woman who saved me back then?"
"No leads yet. Please give me more time; after all, so much time has passed, and finding her is not easy," Li Tao said.
Han Yang nodded. "I know it’s difficult. Do your best, and let the rest be up to fate."
"Understood, we will do our best."
Soon, dawn arrived. Seeing this, Li Tao rushed to prepare breakfast. Having been busy all night, Han Yang was indeed hungry. After eating and resting for a while, it was past eight in the morning. Han Yang and Li Tao headed to the Purple Phoenix Villa.
The estate was located in the southern district of Pengcheng, about a twenty-minute drive from the city center—quite convenient. When Han Yang arrived, Chen Hu had already arrived with his men. The group walked into the villa. It was massive, covering over two thousand square meters, complete with residential areas, leisure zones, and entertainment facilities. There was even a horse track and a golf course. Han Yang also noticed that the spiritual energy here was abundant—a perfect place for cultivation.
At every stop, Chen Hu patiently introduced the features to Han Yang. He had to make sure Han Yang liked the place. And indeed, the more Han Yang heard, the more he liked it.
Once decided, they began the transfer procedures. Chen Hu had even brought a lawyer to facilitate the process. After signing the various contracts, the property belonged entirely to Han Yang. Seeing such a grand villa now under his ownership, Han Yang felt quite pleased.
"Mr. Han, if you have any instructions in the future, just say the word. I, Chen Hu, will be at your beck and call. From today on, I am your lackey," Chen Hu said respectfully.
"I will call you if I need anything."
"Yes, yes, I will be waiting at your command."
Although Chen Hu had lost many men, he had successfully established a connection with the White Ghost Consortium, which could be considered a silver lining. In the future, Han Yang and the consortium would be his solid backing.
After finishing, Chen Hu left with his men. However, he did not dismiss the servants. The Purple Phoenix Villa was so large that it required many people to maintain. Chen Hu left them there to serve Han Yang. They continued their work as usual, only with a new master.
Han Yang said to Li Tao, "Everything is settled here. You should head back to the company; I know you are busy and don't want to hold you up."
"Understood, Boss. I’ll be going then."
Han Yang nodded. After Li Tao left, Han Yang strolled through the estate alone. As he walked, a young man in a suit approached him, looking at him with great respect.
"Mr. Han, my name is Zhang Kehua, the butler of the Purple Phoenix Villa. I will serve you to the best of my ability from now on," Zhang Kehua said respectfully.
Han Yang sized him up. "Chen Hu has already briefed you on everything, hasn't he?"
"Yes, Gang Leader Chen has instructed us. From now on, you are the master here, and we are at your command."
Han Yang nodded. "Good. You go attend to your business; I will call you if I need anything."
"Understood!"
After a tour, Han Yang entered the villa to rest. He was indeed exhausted after the events of the previous night.
...
On the other side, Chen Hu arrived at the City People's Hospital with his men. They quickly reached Xing Tiankai’s ward. Xing Tiankai’s condition was slightly better than it had been two days ago.
"Godfather, how did it go? Was Han Yang taken care of?" Xing Tiankai asked with anticipation.
Looking at Xing Tiankai now, Chen Hu grew increasingly angry. This dog had ruined him. To stand up for him, he had nearly sacrificed his entire gang. The more Chen Hu thought about it, the more his rage burned.
"Damn it! You still have the nerve to ask me? Men, beat him!"
As soon as he finished speaking, two attendants stepped forward and dragged Xing Tiankai off the hospital bed.
