“Damn it, why is it you!”
“How are you still alive!”
Lin Shuqing hurriedly pulled on her clothes, and when she looked up, she saw Hong Yu pushing open the door. She was startled.
Previously, Hong Yu had been chased by several burly men—Lin Shuqing had witnessed it herself. She didn’t believe Hong Yu could escape, let alone appear before her now, completely unharmed.
“You’re still alive, and you expect me to be dead?” Hong Yu retorted, then said directly, “Enough nonsense. Come with me.”
“Come? Come where? Why should I go with you?” Lin Shuqing snapped.
On the hospital bed, Zhang Hao weakly asked, “Who is it? Damn, Lin Shuqing, is your husband here to find you?”
Zhang Hao had just undergone surgery and couldn’t move, so he hadn’t seen that it was Hong Yu.
Lin Shuqing complained, “Hao, what are you talking about? I told you my husband doesn’t care about me.”
“It’s Hong Yu—the bastard who kicked you…”
“What?” Zhang Hao was shocked, struggling to turn his head with all his remaining strength.
When he saw it was truly Hong Yu, Zhang Hao panicked. “Those damn idiots—how could they let him get away and show up here…”
Hong Yu sneered coldly, “Stop whining. I’m not here for you.”
He thought for a moment, then warned, “Looks like your family didn’t send bodyguards to watch over this place. Or maybe you wanted to do something private and sent them away.”
“In any case, you’d better keep your wits about you. If you start shouting again, I won’t hesitate to make your lower half explode again.”
“You… Forget it!” Zhang Hao knew things weren’t looking good and pointed at the door. “You’re not here for me, so you must be here for her. Whatever it is, can you take it outside? Don’t disturb my rest.”
Heh.
Disturb his rest? The way Lin Shuqing behaved just now hardly looked restful.
Hong Yu laughed coldly to himself but didn’t bother to say it aloud. Taking a few steps forward, he reached out to grab Lin Shuqing. “Come with me.”
“Hey! If you have something to say, say it—don’t touch me!” Lin Shuqing backed away in fright, warning, “Touch me again and I’ll scream for help.”
“Go ahead. Even if you scream yourself hoarse here, no one will come,” Hong Yu sneered.
For a woman like Lin Shuqing, any wealthy man would do. Her threat of crying assault was nothing short of a joke.
Lin Shuqing looked at Zhang Hao. “Hao, help me! Hong Yu is here for me—nothing good can come of it.”
Zhang Hao could barely protect himself; he wasn’t about to help her.
He said, “Just get out, will you? You’re nothing special. Stop bothering me.”

Lin Shuqing was stunned; she hadn’t expected Zhang Hao to be so heartless.
Just moments ago, she’d danced in an attempt to cheer him up, and he seemed quite appreciative.
How could he turn his back so quickly?
Could it be that he’d really become a eunuch, entering some saintly phase?
Lin Shuqing knew nothing about Zhang Hao’s condition and assumed it could be cured.
Hong Yu frowned. “Stop wasting my time. I just want you to donate some blood for Xiaoyu—many in the Lin family have already done so.”
“Impossible!” Lin Shuqing protested. “If it weren’t for you two… you two, our Lin family wouldn’t have suffered such a blow! They hate you; there’s no way they’d donate blood for Lin Shuyu.”
Hong Yu’s voice was cold. “If you don’t believe me, come with me and see your mother. She’s on the twelfth floor.”
Lin Shuqing took two steps back. “No way! I faint at the sight of blood—I’d rather die than go.”
Damn it!
Rather die than go?
Mother and daughter, cut from the same cloth—truly a pair of shameless women.
Hong Yu didn’t want to waste more time on Lin Shuqing. He went to Zhang Hao. “Zhang Hao, if Lin Shuqing won’t go, I’ll come for you.”
“You… This has nothing to do with me—why drag me into it?” Zhang Hao was alarmed, but he quickly understood Hong Yu’s intent.
Clenching his teeth, Zhang Hao glared at Lin Shuqing and barked, “Damn it, just go! It’s just donating a bit of blood—not like you’re going to die.”
“Hao, I really faint at the sight of blood…” Lin Shuqing feigned a pitiful look.
“Faint my ass! You’re driving me mad.” Zhang Hao cursed, seeing the dangerous look in Hong Yu’s eyes as though he might act. He quickly said, “Go, hurry up and go. If you do, I’ll buy you an apartment.”
Lin Shuqing’s eyes lit up. “Where?”
Zhang Hao just wanted to get rid of her; he had no intention of actually buying her anything. He casually replied, “Century Garden—I’ll buy you a villa.”
“Really?” Lin Shuqing was so excited she nearly jumped. “If that’s true, I’ll go right now. Hao, you mustn’t go back on your word!”
Zhang Hao sighed, “A promise is a promise. Just go.”
Hong Yu glanced at the time, annoyed at the minutes wasted. “Are you done yet? Hurry up.”
“Alright, alright!” Lin Shuqing replied cheerfully, then followed Hong Yu to the blood testing room.
“Nurse, could you come over?” Hong Yu pulled a nurse aside while Lin Shuqing was tested. “Is there still a shortage of AB blood?”
The nurse hesitated. “Quite a lot, actually. One person’s donation probably won’t be enough.”

Hong Yu glanced at Lin Shuqing, who was beaming in the testing room, then turned to the nurse. “Just draw as much as you need. If she dies, I’ll take responsibility.”
The nurse gasped, “Sir, that’s not possible! If something happens, I’ll be sued and lose my job.”
Chen Dayong, standing by, spoke up. “I’m Chen Dayong—you’ve heard of me, right?”
The nurse nodded repeatedly.
Chen Dayong continued, “As long as you handle this, I’ll look after you. Not only will you keep your job, I guarantee you’ll be promoted to head nurse.”
The nurse paused, considering the offer.
Li Fei, nearby, grew impatient. “Well? Are you going to do it or not? You’re not the only nurse here—if you don’t want the opportunity, plenty of others do.”
The nurse grew anxious. “Alright, I’ll do as you say—but you must keep your promises!”
Chen Dayong smiled. “Don’t worry. You know my reputation in Fengzhou—I won’t deceive you.”
With the assurance, the nurse returned to the testing room, and soon Lin Shuqing’s results were in.
Sure enough, she was AB blood type.
Hong Yu finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He wasn’t sure how the nurse managed it, but the blood Lin Shuyu needed was quickly drawn and sent to the operating room.
As for whether Lin Shuqing died from blood loss, Hong Yu couldn’t care less. In his view, the world would be better off without her.
With enough AB blood, the surgery went smoothly. Watching Lin Shuyu, pale-faced, being wheeled into the ICU, Hong Yu finally relaxed.
“So where are the rest of the Lin family? Now that I have time, I’ll settle accounts with them.” Hong Yu beckoned Li Fei over after sitting for a while.
Li Fei smiled wryly. “Mr. Hong, the Lin family are clever. When things turned bad, they left early. Now, only Lin Shuqing is unconscious in a hospital room.”
“What? Lin Shuqing’s mother left too? I thought they had a touching mother-daughter bond.” Hong Yu sneered, looking around. “Where’s Chen Dayong?”
Li Fei was about to answer when Chen Dayong jogged over from the corridor. “Mr. Hong, old man Zhang Tian from the Zhang family just called me. He wants to meet you.”
“Meet me? What for? Tell him—”
Hong Yu was about to say “tell him to get lost,” but reconsidered and smiled. “Since he wants to see me, let him come.”
