He was certain that Zhao Qiang did not know Zhang Feiyang. He had only attended the Zhang family banquet under Lin Meina’s guidance, where he had merely caught a glimpse of the Zhang family amid the crowd. Today was the first time he had formally come into contact with Zhang Feiyang.

Zhao Qiang had most likely offended Zhang Feiyang, yet the poor man did not even know whom he had antagonized.

“Of course I know him. I could never forget him, not even in my dreams,” Zhang Feiyang said through clenched teeth. He had come here today because of Zhao Qiang.

Zhou Jie’s smile deepened as he hurried to fan the flames and stir up more hostility.

“Zhao Qiang, I advise you to kneel down and apologize to the Third Young Master immediately. Do you know who he is? He is from the Zhang family—”

Before he could finish, Zhao Qiang calmly nodded. “Of course I know.”

“You know, and you still dared to offend the Third Young Master? Do you know what the consequences will be—”

“I know that too.”

The corners of Zhao Qiang’s mouth lifted, his expression utterly unconcerned.

Zhou Jie was dumbfounded. Zhao Qiang really was audacious beyond belief—he had even dared to offend the Third Young Master of the Zhang family. No wonder he had been so arrogant today. In that case, it was hardly surprising.

Still, after offending Zhang Feiyang, Zhao Qiang would certainly not get off easily today.

“Sister Meina, what is Zhao Qiang’s background?”

Having learned from past mistakes, Zhang Feiyang was not as impulsive as he had been before.

His elder brother had repeatedly warned him not to cause trouble outside, so he first needed to find out exactly who Zhao Qiang was before deciding how to deal with him.

After Lin Meina gave him a general account of Zhao Qiang’s identity, the corners of his mouth rose uncontrollably.

So, after all that, Zhao Qiang was nothing more than an ordinary wage earner.

Even if he were a department manager, he would still be beneath Zhang Feiyang’s notice.

And yet such a man was Chu Siqi’s boyfriend? What a joke.

“You’re Zhao Qiang, right? I can let what happened yesterday go, but stay away from Chu Siqi.”

“Give her a call and tell her that the two of you have broken up.”

“Chu Siqi is not someone you’re qualified to pursue. Do you understand?”

Zhang Feiyang dropped heavily into a chair and crossed one leg over the other, his expression arrogant.

In his eyes, getting rid of a lowly wage earner like Zhao Qiang would be effortless.

Their past conflict could be set aside for now. What he truly wanted was Chu Siqi.

The Chu family had only two daughters, Chu Mengyao and Chu Siqi. In the future, the family fortune would naturally fall into the hands of the sisters.

If he could win Chu Siqi over, the life awaiting him would be beyond imagination.

“Are you sick or something?”

Zhao Qiang looked at him as though he were an idiot, inwardly marveling at the strange way the children of wealthy families thought.

They simply said whatever they pleased, without bothering to ask what anyone else thought.

He intended to continue pretending to be Chu Siqi’s boyfriend. Otherwise, Zhang Feiyang would never take him seriously.

“What did you say?”

Zhang Feiyang’s eyes widened, his face filled with disbelief.

“Are you deaf? Do you need me to say it again?”

Zhao Qiang smiled. “You opened your mouth and told us to break up. Why should I listen to you?”

“Fine, then. One million to leave her!”

“Are you serious?”

“If I manage to win Chu Siqi over in the future, she’ll be worth far more than one million. Why would you think I’d care about your money?”

“You’re offering me one million? Are you trying to get rid of a beggar?”

“Five million. That’s the most I can offer. Leave her immediately!”

“Otherwise, this young master will show you no mercy.”

Zhang Feiyang had been planning to let Zhao Qiang name his price, but then remembered that he had only five million left in his account. His bank cards had all been frozen.

Still, he felt it was worth it for the future wealth of the Chu family.

Only after getting Zhao Qiang out of the way would he have a chance to approach Chu Siqi.

“You mean it? If I leave her, you’ll really give me five million?”

Since this fool had money to burn, Zhao Qiang saw no reason to be polite.

He and Chu Siqi had no real relationship anyway. What harm was there in making money while wearing the title of her fake boyfriend?

Five million was enough to cover more than twenty years of his salary. Anyone who refused it would be an idiot.

“Of course. This young master always keeps his word.”

In Zhang Feiyang’s eyes, spending five million to drive away a rival was an excellent bargain.

“I don’t want a check. Transfer it directly into my account right now, here in person. Otherwise, forget it.”

Zhao Qiang had no interest in empty promises. After living a second life, he would not let anyone paint him another rosy picture.

“Send me your account details. I’ll have someone transfer it immediately!”

Zhang Feiyang gritted his teeth and made up his mind.

“Third Young Master, you two…”

Lin Meina wanted to ask what they were talking about, because she could not understand a word of it. She stood there looking completely bewildered.

Zhang Feiyang ignored her and immediately had someone transfer five million to Zhao Qiang.

When the notification announcing that the five million had arrived sounded, the corners of Zhao Qiang’s mouth rose.

He had never expected that simply coming here to cause a scene would earn him five million so effortlessly. The money had come far too easily.

To Zhang Feiyang, it might have been pocket change. To Zhao Qiang, however, it was a considerable sum.

It was legally earned money. Why would he refuse it?

“Well? Can you make the call now?”

Zhang Feiyang asked impatiently, his eyes filled with anticipation.

Zhao Qiang quickly dialed Chu Siqi’s number and turned on the speaker so Zhang Feiyang could hear.

“Hello. Zhao Qiang, what is it?”

Chu Siqi’s voice came through the phone, carrying a trace of confusion.

“Siqi, we’re not suited for each other. Let’s break up.”

Chu Siqi was clearly stunned on the other end. She had not yet grasped what was happening.

“Let’s remain good friends from now on. Goodbye!”

Zhao Qiang ended the call without hesitation. The gesture greatly pleased Zhang Feiyang.

“Fine. Since you’ve shown such sincerity, I won’t hold what happened yesterday against you.”

“But I still want to warn you: the Chu family’s Second Young Lady is not someone you can set your sights on!”

Zhang Feiyang spoke viciously, issuing another warning.

The Chu family’s Second Young Lady?

Zhou Jie and Lin Meina were both stunned. Zhao Qiang was the Second Young Lady of the Chu family’s boyfriend?

Had Zhao Qiang not been married for a long time, with a child already?

“Third Young Master, have you been deceived by Zhao Qiang? His wife gave birth to his child just yesterday. How could he possibly be the Second Young Lady of the Chu family’s boyfriend?”

Zhou Jie spoke hurriedly, his face filled with astonishment and confusion.

When Zhang Feiyang heard this, his face instantly turned livid. He glared furiously at Zhao Qiang and roared, “You actually deceived me! Give me my money back!”

That money had been his allowance for the next two months, and Zhao Qiang had swindled every penny of it away.

Zhao Qiang, however, remained perfectly calm. Folding his arms across his chest, he sneered, “Once the money reaches my account, it’s mine. Why would I return it?”

“It’s not as though I forced you to transfer it. You sent it willingly. What does that have to do with me?”

“You did exactly what you said you would. Chu Siqi and I have broken up!”

Zhao Qiang waved his hand dismissively. Now that the money was in his account, there was no chance he would give it back.

“You bastard! You dared to deceive me!”

“You must be tired of living!”

Zhang Feiyang was consumed by rage. His fists clenched tightly, and the veins on his forehead bulged.

“If you kneel and kowtow to me now, it may still not be too late!”

“Otherwise—”

Before he could finish, Zhao Qiang interrupted him with a torrent of mockery.

“Zhang Feiyang, are you sick? Has your brain stopped working?”

Disdain filled Zhao Qiang’s eyes. “Do you think everyone is going to indulge you? Apart from having a wealthy family, what abilities do you possess yourself?”

“You want me to kneel before you? Who do you think you are?”

Zhao Qiang snorted coldly. He was not going to remain with this company or the Zhang Group anyway, so why should he care who Zhang Feiyang was?

Zhang Feiyang’s elder brother, Zhang Zihao, was his sworn enemy. The two men were locked in a feud as deep as blood and death.

Naturally, Zhao Qiang had no reason to show the younger brother the slightest courtesy.

Furious beyond endurance, Zhang Feiyang gestured toward the bodyguards behind him. “Teach this insolent bastard a lesson!”

He could not swallow this humiliation. He had to make Zhao Qiang understand the consequences of offending him.

Lin Meina and Zhou Jie tactfully stepped aside, leaving Zhang Feiyang to deal with Zhao Qiang. Their faces soon filled with delighted schadenfreude.

Just then, a stern voice rang out.

“Stop!”

Everyone turned toward the sound and saw a tall, imposing middle-aged man striding toward them.

His gaze was sharp as he swept it over everyone present. The force of his presence seemed to freeze the air around them.

“Big Brother, what brings you here?”

The moment Zhang Feiyang saw him, his confidence faltered.

“If I had not come, who knows what kind of disaster you would have caused!”

The man reprimanded him angrily. “All you do is cause trouble from morning till night. When will you finally give me some peace of mind?”

Zhang Feiyang lowered his head and did not dare say a word.

Zhao Qiang narrowed his eyes. That face was far too familiar.

At last, he had come face-to-face with the man himself once more—Zhang Zihao.
