Chapter 4: You Heartless Scoundrel, A Dog Who Abandoned His Wife and Child
“You dare!” Liu Ruoyan let out a sharp scream.
Zhao Qiang burst into loud laughter, and Liu Ruoyan immediately stopped pretending.
“Mom, Dad, you see that? There’s no way we’re going to get this paternity test done.”
“You said there’s no ghost, but do you think I believe that?”
Zhao Qiang intended to make a scene, one that couldn’t be easily resolved.
That way, even if Liu Ruoyan didn’t want a divorce, she wouldn’t have a choice.
She rejected their own children, yet insisted on forcing him to take the fall.
Zhao Qiang suspected the other man must be some wealthy heir.
Otherwise, there’d be no way he’d be the one stuck with this mess. After all, Liu Ruoyan was once the campus beauty.
If he were an ordinary man, he would have long since become a proud father, and there’d be no chance for him.
But now, he had no leads whatsoever.
Desperate, Liu Ruoyan would be forced to seek out that man, and then he’d know who he really was.
He had thought about snooping through Liu Ruoyan’s phone, gathering information bit by bit.
But after much thought, he couldn’t bear it.
He didn’t want to endure a single more day wearing this cuckold’s hat.
“Fine, you two take good care of the kids.”
“Liu Ruoyan, once you’ve recovered a bit, I’ll come find you again. We’ll go to the civil affairs bureau together and get the divorce papers.”
“Mom, Dad, let’s go. There’s no reason to stay here any longer.”
Zhao Qiang gave the Liu family no time to consider, turning and leaving with He Fen and Zhao Hai.
The elderly couple was puzzled; the Liu family’s attitude was too rigid. Could there really be something fishy?
They were determined not to allow the paternity test, and He Fen and Zhao Hai grew increasingly suspicious.
Perhaps the children Liu Ruoyan bore were truly not from the Zhao family.
“Zhao Qiang, how dare you leave!”
Hearing Liu Ruoyan’s stern shout behind him, Zhao Qiang stopped and slowly turned around.
“Why wouldn’t I dare?”
Even now, Liu Ruoyan’s tone was as tough as ever.
As if she still believed she could control him.
“I don’t even have the right to a paternity test, can’t even check blood type. So why should I stay here?”
“Play house with you?”
Zhao Qiang smiled wryly. This family was truly absurd.
No inspections, no tests, and in the end, not even allowed to leave.
In his past life, he hadn’t realized it, but now it was clear the Liu family’s need to control was pathological.
Liu Ruoyan, the stunning campus beauty of Imperial Capital University.
Back then, he had won her heart with just a cup of milk tea. Looking back, Zhao Qiang thought he was too naive.
Among all of Liu Ruoyan’s admirers, he was nothing special.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch; what falls is surely a trap.
A carefully laid trap that held him captive for so many years, even costing him his life.
It was a pity he hadn’t been reborn back to the time when he first met Liu Ruoyan.
If he could, he would want to stay far away from this woman, far away from this bloodsucking family.
“Who said the children aren’t yours? I’ve said it—the children are yours.”
Liu Ruoyan shouted loudly, so convincingly she even believed it herself.
Her voice echoed down the corridor, instantly drawing a crowd of onlookers.
She gritted her teeth and continued, “You sit down. I can pretend nothing happened and we can go back to how things were.”
“If you leave, I won’t let you live easy.”
Her words were a blatant threat, as if this was her last plea, hoping Zhao Qiang would cherish it.
“Hahaha…” Zhao Qiang laughed out loud.
“What are you laughing at? I’m not joking.”
Liu Ruoyan’s expression was solemn, her palm gripping the hospital bed rail tightly.
“Liu Ruoyan, do you think I’m joking?”
“Or do you really think I’m that easy to fool?”
“If you want me to suffer, fine. It’s just a divorce.”
“Sorry, I don’t care.”
“Take good care of your two precious sons—I’m done serving you.”
He had been reborn; why would he fear her threats?
What a joke. Liu Ruoyan was shameless. He had already shown his hand clearly—he had figured out the children’s true parentage.
These two weren’t his, but Liu Ruoyan insisted on making him wear that cuckold’s crown firmly.
Liu Ruoyan’s face turned pale as her clenched fists trembled uncontrollably.
Zhao Qiang was insane, shameless despite her giving him an easy way out.
Who knew he’d still be so ungrateful!
“Zhao Qiang, you bastard!”
“Since my sister gave you a chance and you refused, don’t blame me if my fists don’t hold back!”
Liu Tianming swung his fists and charged at Zhao Qiang, ready to fight for his sister’s justice.
Earlier, Zhao Qiang hadn’t hit him hard enough. This time, he wouldn’t hold back.
Zhao Qiang sidestepped easily, dodging the wild attack.
“Is that all you’ve got? You want to teach me a lesson?”
Zhao Qiang sneered contemptuously.
This second-rate punk only knew a few moves learned from his scoundrel friends.
Liu Tianming was humiliated and angry, lunging at him again.
This time, Zhao Qiang didn’t dodge. He raised his hand and punched Liu Tianming squarely in the face.
Liu Tianming screamed in pain and collapsed to the ground.
“Zhao Qiang, you useless wretch!”
“You hit me today, my friends won’t let you off.”
Even lying on the floor, Liu Tianming spat insults.
In his eyes, his sister was a heavenly beauty; marrying Zhao Qiang was a blessing earned over several lifetimes.
Yet Zhao Qiang still demanded a paternity test—he was truly ungrateful.
“Zhao Qiang, you asked for this. Do you really think I’m easy prey? I’m sick of your whole family.”
“You lazy good-for-nothing, what else can you do besides mooch off your parents?”
Zhao Qiang stamped on Liu Tianming’s back, eliciting another scream.
He held nothing back. Before, he had refrained from fighting back for fear of complaints.
Now that he was at open war with the Liu family, he had nothing to fear.
“Let go of my son!”
Li Fengying shouted urgently. This was her precious son, and Zhao Qiang was being so brutal.
“Of course I’ll let go. If I don’t, II'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
