Chapter 71 You Dare to Provoke Him Too?
Yang Changfeng burst out laughing. Today was quite a good day—he’d witnessed a free show. But he had angered Lan Yiheng. That mocking laughter, especially, sounded unbearably grating in Lan Yiheng’s ears.
Lan Yiheng kicked the Audi, memorizing its license plate. As a celebrity, there were plenty of ways to ruin someone’s reputation. “You’re in a bad mood, so rest well. I’ll come back tomorrow. There’s an event you like, your idol will be there, and I have a pass. After dinner, I’ll take you with me,” Lan Yiheng said, showing his shrewdness. He knew that tangling with Mas Wei at this moment would lead nowhere—her agent was watching, and no significant change could happen overnight. Time was on his side.
He felt a little embarrassed thinking about it. When the paparazzi chased after him, Lan Yiheng’s only thought was to hide and avoid being photographed. Mas Wei was very attractive, but he couldn’t let those fangirls down because of her. What if they stopped being his fans? Every fan meant money.
Lan Yiheng left, not in his Ferrari but in a discreet, top-tier Passat, which cost no less than the two Audis.
Yang Changfeng was disappointed—the show was just getting good, and now it was over. Mas Wei spat at the departing Passat, then said impatiently to her agent, “Don’t interfere in my personal business anymore. You’re not Lan Yiheng’s agent. Why must you always help him?”
Her tone was full of dissatisfaction, though the agent didn’t seem to notice. She smiled, “I’m not harming you. I’m doing this for your own good.”
Yang Changfeng, losing interest, prepared to close his car door and leave. Suddenly, the agent nudged Mas Wei, her voice trembling, “Quick, look, the guy surnamed Sun is here!”
Well, Mas Wei certainly attracted people—Lan had just left, and now Sun...
Damn, Sun Zhaoxing? Yang Changfeng leaned against the car window, watching as that ostentatious Cayenne pulled up beside them and Sun Zhaoxing’s surprised face appeared at the window. Sun Zhaoxing was startled, blurting out, “Damn, what are you doing here?”
He glanced at Mas Wei, scratching his head knowingly, then grinned mischievously, “Well, aren’t you something—so many romantic entanglements.”
Yang Changfeng was puzzled—what was this guy doing here? “Shouldn’t you be preparing for your business? Why are you running around here so late?” he retorted.
Sun Zhaoxing paused before answering, “I live here, where else would I go? Unlike you, living on the artificial island—now that’s real luxury.”
Familiar with him, Yang Changfeng didn’t bother with politeness, swearing, “Luxury, my ass! Hey, you’re not out fooling around tonight, home so early—let me see, which starlet did you bring in your car this time?”
Sun Zhaoxing shot back angrily, “Hell with you! Do you want me to smack you?”
He then looked at Mas Wei. His expression was unpleasant, but he spoke generously: “If you’d said you knew this guy, I’d have let it go. That little mess is over—just watch yourself, don’t mess with me again. I’ll give the word, and the blacklist will be lifted.”
Mas Wei was still confused. Everyone in the city knew who Sun Zhaoxing was—he didn’t drink, smoke, gamble, or bully people, but calling him a good guy would be stretching it. No one dared mess with him; he didn’t care about status, laughed when pleased, fought when angry—even dared to beat up the emperor’s grandson, leaving him concussed, and nothing happened after. Who would dare provoke someone like that?
She’d been unlucky—targeted by others in the industry, and ended up offending this young lord. He said nothing, merely showed displeasure, and many scrambled to please him. Word spread through the city’s circles: anyone getting close to Mas Wei would cross Sun Zhaoxing.
Unable to stay in Beijing’s circles, Mas Wei returned to Jiangzhou, only to hear Sun Zhaoxing was in town as well. She feared he was out to get her, and was trembling with anxiety—now, unexpectedly, they met tonight. Even more surprising, the famous Sun Zhaoxing not only knew Yang Changfeng, but seemed on friendly terms with him?
Mas Wei was at a loss for words.
The agent was regretful to the point of tears, blaming Mas Wei—how could she not mention such a powerful connection? Those who could associate with Sun Zhaoxing couldn’t be measured by what car they drove. He might drive a Xiali today, but that was just keeping a low profile. Foolish girl, how could she not seize such a valuable resource?
“Thank you, Young Master Sun, thank you for your generosity. Weiwei, quickly thank Young Master Sun, say thank you,” the agent bowed deeply, her voice nearly crying.
Sun Zhaoxing didn’t even look at her, waving his hand, “Don’t bother me with nonsense. Explain clearly what happened, and don’t drag me into your industry’s messy business. Also, warn your company’s hotshot—the pretty boy who’s popular this year—tell him not to ask for trouble, thinking he can use people without anyone noticing. Tell your boss, if he wants to make it in Beijing’s circles, don’t keep supporting this guy, or I’ll smash his lousy company.”
Yang Changfeng gave a thumbs up, “Young Master Sun, you’re impressive. Enjoy yourself, I’m heading out.”
“Go on, do your thing and pretend you didn’t see me. Don’t worry, I won’t spread word about you,” Sun Zhaoxing winked, looking utterly ridiculous.
Yang Changfeng laughed and cursed, “Nonsense! I’ve got nothing to do with these two, can’t you see I’m in a foul mood? They’ve annoyed me. How about you let it go with them and help vent my anger too?”
Mas Wei glared at Yang Changfeng—what kind of person was he?
The agent’s legs went weak, her face mournful and bowed, repeatedly apologizing, “I’m sorry, so sorry, I didn’t recognize greatness, I was blind and foolish, I’ve wronged you, I…”
“Looking at you makes me sick,” Yang Changfeng turned his head away immediately.
Sun Zhaoxing seemed to sense something—though he couldn’t quite tell why, it was clear this starlet and Yang Changfeng weren’t involved as rumored.
“I’m impressed with you all. You dare provoke him, and do it here in Jiangzhou. I don’t know whether to call you naive or just bold.” For reasons unknown, Sun Zhaoxing played up Yang Changfeng’s reputation, giving Mas Wei a thumbs up. “You know, if he’s angry, he’d dare hit me right in front of my own father. You—tsk tsk—surviving this long is really something.”
