Chapter Twenty-Four: The Crushing Defeat
Chapter Twenty-four: Crushing Defeat
“What?!”
Everyone was stunned.
“Did I hear that right? He wants to make Gao Wenqiang cry?”
“Haha, he must be out of his mind.”
“Yeah, maybe he’s just trying to be funny?”
Liu Feifei frowned, recalling the morning’s events. Her feelings grew complicated. “What’s gotten into this guy?”
“Hey!” An eager student shouted, “Shi Bai, don’t do anything rash! You still have your whole life ahead of you, don’t throw it away!”
The students erupted in laughter.
The PE teacher stood with hands on hips, eyeing Shi Bai with amused interest. “Are you… serious?”
Shi Bai nodded vigorously. “Yes!” Like a stubborn child.
Gao Wenqiang folded his muscular arms, glaring at Shi Bai from beneath his chin with a look of utter disdain. He sneered, “Teacher! Let him try. Honestly, I haven’t cried in over ten years. My eyes have been itching lately—I could use a good cry!”
“Hahahahahaha…”
The PE teacher tilted his head, thinking hard for a while, then finally made a difficult decision. “Alright! But remember, you’re only sparring—no emotions, no competitiveness. Understood?”
“Understood!” Gao Wenqiang replied cheerfully, “I would never bully an idiot!”
The students laughed again.
The teacher shook his head in resignation, then blew his whistle. “Alright, everyone, look to the right!”
The students quickly shuffled into neat lines.
Once everyone was in place, the teacher had Gao Wenqiang and Shi Bai stand at the center of the gym.
Shi Bai immediately called upon the system. “Activate a custom task: I want to crush Gao Wenqiang!”
“Custom task created. Task activated.”
Hearing the cold voice, Shi Bai was suddenly filled with confidence. His eyes flashed with contempt as he glared at Gao Wenqiang.
Gao Wenqiang felt inexplicably annoyed by the stare. “Damn it, this loser isn’t even my match. Why does he look so confident?”
He shook his head fiercely and threatened Shi Bai, “Loser, watch how you embarrass yourself!”
Shi Bai smiled faintly. “I’m ready.” But inwardly, he was devising a plan. “To defeat him, I need to use the least likely move.”
After a brief thought, his mind was made up, and he wore a relaxed smile.
The teacher stepped between them, placing both hands on their heads and speaking quietly, “Listen up, don’t try any tricks. I’ve seen more matches than you’ve eaten meals. Got it?”
Both were startled, surprised by the teacher’s sharp intuition. He was right; in a real match, no one could guarantee the other wouldn’t use dirty tactics.
The teacher finished his warning, blew his whistle, and swept his hand down. “Match start!” Gao Wenqiang lunged at Shi Bai like a starving tiger.
Neither really knew the rules—just no kicking or gouging eyes, and whoever threw the other down won. Their moves were simple and rough.
Gao Wenqiang was big and strong; his charge was powerful and intimidating. The spectators felt afraid for Shi Bai, convinced that if Gao Wenqiang caught him, the match would end instantly.
To them, Shi Bai had only one chance: dodge Gao Wenqiang’s attack and let his momentum topple him—otherwise, a direct confrontation was impossible.
But in that critical moment, Shi Bai did something no one expected.
As Gao Wenqiang was about to tackle him, Shi Bai didn’t dodge. Instead, he suddenly turned, exposing his undefended back to Gao Wenqiang.
“What?!”
Everyone on the field was stunned. For a moment, Gao Yang, Liu Feifei, Zhang Tongtong, and the PE teacher all wore expressions of utter disbelief.
“What is he doing?”
Gao Wenqiang abruptly stopped behind Shi Bai, his outstretched hands unsure where to go.
The scene was awkward.
“I told you!” someone suddenly shouted, “He’s lost his mind, and you didn’t believe me! Isn’t this classic self-destruction?”
The crowd erupted, people murmuring, and the teacher frowned.
“What’s going on with him?”
“Hey!”
But just then, Shi Bai spoke up.
“What are you all shouting for? Have some manners! Can’t you see we’re in the middle of a match? You’re making too much noise!”
He turned to Gao Wenqiang behind him, “Hurry up and do something! Why are you frozen? Are you playing dumb?”
The students fell silent, a chill seeming to sweep through the field.
“Damn! Shi Bai is way too arrogant!”
“Exactly! He’s weak, doomed to lose, and still has such a foul mouth!”
“Gao Wenqiang! Get him!”
“Yeah! Teach him a lesson!”
“Show him who’s boss!”
The crowd’s mood suddenly shifted, all backing Gao Wenqiang.
Seeing so much support, Gao Wenqiang didn’t hold back. With a roar, he lunged at Shi Bai, locking his shoulders.
“You loser! Today I’ll show you what I’m made of!” Gao Wenqiang said, attempting to slam Shi Bai to the ground.
Everyone’s hearts raced; fists clenched as they watched Shi Bai about to be thrown down, secretly feeling a trace of satisfaction, “Serves him right for being cocky!”
“Bang!”
With a dull thud of flesh hitting the ground, dust rose on the field.
But the crowd didn’t cheer. Instead, they all gaped in disbelief.
At the moment Gao Wenqiang tried to throw Shi Bai, Shi Bai simply raised his hips ever so slightly.
Just that gentle motion, like a child’s careless wiggle, sent Gao Wenqiang flying with a crash.
Dust billowed.
Silence—utter, deathly silence.
Shock—like a ghost, unspeakable shock.
A minute later, the gym erupted with screams worthy of a Jay Chou concert.
“What the hell just happened?!”
“Am I hallucinating?!”
“Is anyone there? Quick, pinch me!”
Gao Yang, the teacher, Liu Feifei—all stared at Shi Bai as if waking from a dream.
Only Ye Ying’er and Shangguan Yunfei wore helpless smiles.
Gao Wenqiang couldn’t believe what had happened. He knew he’d almost thrown Shi Bai down, but for some reason, he was suddenly sent flying by a tremendous force.
“Was it him?” Gao Wenqiang looked at Shi Bai, who was still standing with his hips raised, in a ridiculous and bizarre pose.
Gao Wenqiang stared at Shi Bai’s hips, shaking his head fiercely, “Impossible!”
He slapped the ground and quickly stood up. “Why are you posing like you knocked me out with your butt?! You really think you defeated me? I’ll tell you, just now I wasn’t—!”
“Bang!”
Another cloud of dust, Gao Wenqiang fell to the ground, limbs splayed, while not far away, Shi Bai remained in the same pose.
That slightly raised hip, stretching the nylon pants of his school uniform, round and smooth—yet in the eyes of the audience now, it seemed strangely alluring and wild.
Silence… utter, deathly silence.
Shock… like a ghost, unspeakable shock.
At last, the gym erupted with screams worthy of a Michael Jackson concert.
