Chapter 008: Damn, It's Tai Chi! Making the First Move
The skin inside was incredibly smooth.
With the heart of a healer, Song Kai swiftly pressed his fingers onto the Zhongji acupoint, just below Zhou Ran’s navel. This was a special acupoint for treating menstrual pain. Yet, while Song Kai’s intentions were pure, Zhou Ran certainly didn’t see it that way. Where was the Zhongji point? It was right below the navel, almost touching the edge of her underwear!
Zhou Ran turned her head to glare at Song Kai. He was still seriously applying pressure with his fingers. But that look of rapture on Song Kai’s face, in Zhou Ran’s eyes, was nothing short of perverted—downright lecherous.
“Bastard!” Zhou Ran raised her hand and smacked Song Kai squarely on the forehead.
“Ouch!”
Song Kai snapped out of his trance, glanced at Zhou Ran, and hurriedly tried to withdraw his fingers. In his panic, his fingers snagged on the edge of Zhou Ran’s skirt, and with a tearing sound, he pulled her skirt’s waistband loose.
With the skirt’s knot undone, even her underwear was exposed.
“I’ll fight you to the death!” Zhou Ran was truly furious, fuming with rage as she shouted on the spot.
Song Kai quickly whispered, “Don’t hit me! Tie your skirt first—your reputation! That’s what matters most!”
Face flushed red, Zhou Ran hastily fixed her skirt.
At that moment, the teacher at the podium frowned and asked, “Um, Zhou Ran, is something wrong?”
“It’s nothing, just teach your class!” Zhou Ran snapped irritably.
The teacher shrugged helplessly and continued the lesson.
But the boys at the back of the class were about to lose their minds. How could anyone put up with this?
“Damn, Jun, did you see that? Did you? Song Kai’s dumb hand really came out from inside Zhou Ran’s skirt.”
“I saw it too! There was even… moisture on his finger.”
“Shit, something’s definitely going on between them. No wonder Zhou Ran was lying on the desk earlier, clutching her stomach and trembling—turns out it was Song Kai’s hand making her all excited.”
“No way! Zhou Ran’s so pretty, how could she possibly fancy a loser like Song Kai? I’m better looking, richer, and my fingers are more nimble, too!”
The boys in the back row burned with jealousy.
Chen Haijun’s face went dark as he cursed, “All of you, shut the hell up! Zhou Ran is the woman I’ve set my sights on. If anyone dares slander her again, I’ll cripple them!”
The boys immediately fell silent.
Chen Haijun’s eyes were blazing with fury. He couldn’t take it anymore. He’d been interested in Zhou Ran for ages but never succeeded, and now, to his shock, Song Kai, that bastard, seemed to have gotten close to her!
Who would have thought that someone who looked so innocent would actually be so… wild? If he managed to win her over, wouldn’t he be able to sleep with her in no time?
The more Chen Haijun thought about it, the more agitated he became. No, he had to have Zhou Ran. Damn it, Song Kai, you pathetic shut-in, you’re dead!
Sitting in his seat, Song Kai continued reading his physics textbook, completely unconcerned about what had just happened.
Zhou Ran, still fuming, was breathing heavily, but soon she found herself puzzled. “Huh? My stomach doesn’t hurt anymore? Could it be… Song Kai really was treating me? Impossible! He’s a useless good-for-nothing—how could he possibly cure menstrual pain with just a couple of presses?”
“Hmph! He was just being a pervert, just like when he steals stockings!” Zhou Ran concluded with certainty.
After school in the afternoon.
Song Kai, impatient, slung his backpack over his shoulder and hurried out of the classroom—he needed to get home and practice the Nine Thunder Internal Breath. There were too many things to do lately, and he couldn’t let Xu Ling look down on him.
In the back row, Chen Haijun waved his hand, gathering four cronies to chase after Song Kai.
“You’re dead meat today!” Chen Haijun had been suppressing his anger all day and could no longer hold back. He and his crew blocked Song Kai right on the main walkway of the school.
Song Kai paused when he saw Chen Haijun. Then, with a flick of his hand, he said, “Get lost! I don’t have time to deal with a moron like you.”
“Damn! Still acting cocky with me?” Chen Haijun snarled, lunging forward and throwing a punch straight at Song Kai’s face.
Instinctively, Song Kai’s right hand drew a circle, perfectly deflecting the punch, and then he drove his left shoulder hard into Chen Haijun’s armpit.
It was Tai Chi Chuan—a martial skill every Daoist knew.
With a thud, the burly Chen Haijun was sent flying three or four meters, landing hard on his backside.
His cronies were stunned.
Song Kai didn’t spare Chen Haijun a glance and dashed toward the school gate. Fighting on campus was no joke—Chen Haijun had connections, but at the moment, Song Kai was just a penniless debtor. If he got expelled, he wouldn’t be able to take the college entrance exams.
“Jun, are you alright?”
“Damn, did he just use Tai Chi? That was awesome.”
“Shut up, idiot! Didn’t you see Jun just got his ass handed to him? Awesome, my ass. On Monday, we’re bringing weapons. We’ll waste that loser.”
Chen Haijun felt like coughing blood. He leaped to his feet and roared, “Are you all idiots? Why didn’t you attack together? Damn! It really did look like Tai Chi—how did he get so strong? That loser used to be so timid, but now he’s fighting back… Damn it, I won’t let him off…”
Song Kai, backpack on his shoulder, ran toward Jiulong Bay.
Jiulong Bay was over seven kilometers from Tengyun First High School. Running was tiring, but it saved money and was good exercise.
The apartment at Jiulong Bay was rented. His family’s villa and two other properties had all been auctioned off when the family business went bankrupt.
Now, Song Kai was truly a man with nothing.
“Sigh…”
Arriving at the entrance to the complex, Song Kai wiped the sweat from his forehead and sighed.
He was just about to enter when his phone rang. It was a call from Zhang Gang.
Seeing the number, Song Kai narrowed his eyes. The incident last night with Liu Miaoyu was definitely Zhang Gang’s trap! Zhang Gang was a second-generation rich kid with some standing in Tengyun City. He’d set it up—and the cop who showed up was called by Zhang Gang, too!
Well, it was time to settle the score with him. Otherwise, he’d keep thinking Song Kai was still the down-and-out coward he used to be.
“Hello, Brother Gang,” Song Kai answered.
Zhang Gang laughed heartily on the other end, “Song Kai, my man, what are you up to? Got any plans tonight? Come out and have some fun?”
Song Kai smiled, “Sure, Brother Gang. I’ve been itching for something to do.”
Zhang Gang chuckled, “Alright then, it’s settled. Tonight, at Glorious Splendor, the usual place—don’t be late!”
“Okay!” Song Kai hung up.
On the other end, Zhang Gang sat on the sofa, hair disheveled, clearly just out of bed. Next to him was a heavily made-up woman in a strappy dress—she wasn’t even wearing a bra—leaning against his leg, her slender fingers caressing his thigh.
This woman was Zhang Gang’s mistress, Luo Feng, the one who had also plotted against Liu Miaoyu.
Zhang Gang took a swig of beer and sneered, “That loser Song Kai, I saw him take that girl back to his room last night. How come nothing happened?”
Opposite him sat a man in a security uniform—Li Tianhu, deputy captain of the Public Security Brigade. Li Tianhu chuckled, “Forget it, maybe the fool got lucky and Liu Miaoyu left in time. But tonight, we won’t let him off, haha…”
Song Kai put down his phone, a cold smile in his eyes. He hadn’t gone looking for Zhang Gang yet, but Zhang Gang had come to him first.
Thinking it over, all his current miseries—no car, no house, no savings, and thirty thousand in debt—were really thanks to Zhang Gang. That bastard kept taking him gambling and clubbing. When his father’s company went bankrupt, he’d still had tens of thousands in his account, but lost it all gambling in less than half a month, ending up thirty thousand in debt to the casino.
Song Kai headed toward Glorious Splendor and, along the way, bought a fruit knife to carry with him. There was no other way—his body was too weak. Even with Tai Chi and Quanzhen boxing training, without a strong body, he couldn’t put it to use.
He slipped the fruit knife into his pocket before entering Glorious Splendor. He knew full well that killing was a crime, but in desperate times, the knife could save his life…
