Chapter 108: Brother, Brother, Brother
“Just guessed and got it right?”
Lu Yiqi: Feels like my intelligence is being insulted!
Lu Yiqi shot him a glare. “What do you mean by ‘just guessed’?”
Xie Xu spoke slowly, “Four-digit passwords are the easiest to guess. I first tried your birthday—it didn’t work. Then I randomly entered a few codes. Later, thinking about your intelligence, the password you set can’t be that hard, but it’s definitely not 1234. So, most likely it’s of the AAAA type; if that didn’t work, then it would be ABAB. I just happened to try AAAA a few times, and it opened.”
“...”
Alright, you’re ruthless.
“Fine, then what was that move you just pulled? Since when did I become your girlfriend?”
Lu Yiqi looked determined to get to the bottom of this.
Xie Xu sighed. If he admitted now that when he said “girlfriend” earlier, he wasn’t joking and actually wanted to make her his girlfriend, she’d probably be scared, stop talking to him, or hide whenever she saw him.
That wouldn’t do.
Too difficult.
---
Xie Xu had lived eighteen years and this was his first time wanting to date, yet the process was so arduous.
He lowered his gaze slightly. “I thought that guy had ill intentions toward you. Besides, didn’t we agree last time that we’d help each other block unwanted admirers? Next time a woman clings to me, you do the same as I did today, got it?”
Hearing the tone that sounded like a warning, Lu Yiqi retorted, “If a guy does that, it’s no big deal. But if a girl does, she’s definitely a manipulative flirt.”
“Pfft.” Xie Xu snorted lightly. “Have you actually seen a manipulative flirt? You say that so easily.”
“No, but haven’t you heard the saying, ‘You don’t have to eat pork to know what a pig looks like’?” Lu Yiqi said confidently.
“Oh? Then come on, teach your brother some lines of a manipulative flirt.”
“Fine, I’ll teach you, I’m not scared.”
Lu Yiqi was completely off track. Clearing her throat, she pinched her voice to make it much softer: “Brother, you should go back to your girlfriend quickly, don’t let her misunderstand. I’m fine being alone.”
“Brother, don’t be mad at her. She’s just a little stubborn; girls all have their little moods. How about I accompany you to relax?”
“Brother, you’re such a good guy, why doesn’t she know how to cherish you?”
“Unlike me, a girl doomed to be alone.”
---
After finishing the act, Lu Yiqi, seemingly disgusted with herself, pretended to gag, then quickly grabbed the Wangzai milk on the table and took several sips, then picked up her chopsticks and ate a few bites before returning to her normal tone. “See? That’s how a manipulative flirt talks.”
Lu Yiqi’s voice was usually melodious and clear like a songbird, pleasant to the ear, but just now, pinching her voice made it even softer, not in an affected way but gentle and tender—enough to stir a man’s protective instincts.
Xie Xu was still entranced by the few times she called him “Brother.” He hadn’t expected her to be like this when acting coy. His heart began to beat uncontrollably just from those few words.
Truly deadly.
He pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth, steadying his emotions, then teasingly said, “You do know you’re a tomboy. But if you kept talking like that, calling me ‘Brother’ all the time, you’d definitely... disgust people.”
“Get lost,” Lu Yiqi snapped without hesitation. Although what Xie Xu said was true—she was disgusted with herself too—she didn’t like him saying it so bluntly.
