“Stop looking so glum. You’re not the only girl who can’t win my heart.”

Lu Yiqi: “???”

Ha, to hell with this comic-strip prince.

Are all good-looking people so narcissistic?

She only wanted to ask for directions, but he thought she was trying to pursue him? And he assumed she was upset because she couldn’t win him over? She was clearly anxious about being late.

Lu Yiqi’s gaze shifted, tinged with a hint of pity.

What a shame. Such a handsome boy, but a fool at heart.

Still, even if he’s a fool, it’s none of her concern. Her priority is to find out where her classroom is.

So, Lu Yiqi withdrew her sympathetic look, cleared her throat, and tried to smile normally at the boy. “No, you misunderstand. I’m not here to confess or chase after you. I just wanted to ask for directions. Could you tell me how to get to Class One of Grade Two?”

The boy blinked. His first reaction was to notice how forced her smile looked, then he realized he’d misunderstood.

To make up for his blunder, he turned around and headed upstairs.

“Come on.”

Lu Yiqi paused for a second, then followed.

As they reached the classroom door, the bell rang for the start of class.

She turned to thank him, “Thank you, but it seems you’ve made yourself late because of me. You should hurry and find your—”

Before she could finish, the boy stepped past her and entered the classroom ahead of her.

Lu Yiqi: “???”

As she watched him walk in and take a seat at an empty desk, she finally understood.

So she’d found a classmate from her own class to show her the way?

She stood dazed for a few seconds, until someone tapped her shoulder. Lu Yiqi turned instinctively.

A young, attractive female teacher stood behind her, holding a book. “Class has started. Why are you still lingering at the door? Come in.”

“Oh, right.” Lu Yiqi stepped into the classroom, only to be called back by the teacher.

“Wait a moment. You look unfamiliar—are you the new transfer student?”

“Yes, that’s me.”

“Alright, go to the podium and introduce yourself.”

“Okay.”

Lu Yiqi obediently walked up to the front.

Inside, she was grumbling: Of all the things in life, she hated math and introductions the most. Math was unavoidable, but self-introductions—she never knew what to say.

In her eyes, sharing her hobbies and interests with a group of strangers she’d only just met was simply too awkward.

So, after a few seconds of thought, she decided to keep it brief.

“Hello, everyone. My name is Lu Yiqi. I transferred here from No. 5 High School in Z City. Please take care of me.”

“Alright, Lu. Go find an empty seat and sit down.”

“Thank you, Teacher.”

The boy had already laid his head down at his desk, ignoring everything around him. But when he heard the name “Lu Yiqi,” he lifted his head, his deep eyes lingering on her for a few seconds. Something seemed to occur to him, and the corners of his lips curled into a faint smile.

...

Lu Yiqi glanced around the classroom and found only two empty seats left.

One was in front of the comic-strip boy, the other was right in the front row by the teacher’s desk...
